“These People Are Crazy!”

“These people are crazy!”

With those four little words, President Donald J. Trump summarized what every patriotic red-blooded American was thinking as they watched the State of the Union address on February 24, 2026.

For the better part of two hours, President Trump touted his administration’s accomplishments while drawing a stark contrast between the two major political parties. At times, President Trump channeled his inner Muhammad Ali, bobbing and weaving like a prizefighter stalking his prey. However, at other times, he more closely resembled “Iron Mike” Tyson, rushing across the ring to knock his opponent out as quickly as possible.

How did President Trump register a political knockout? Simple… he delivered a series of devastating uppercuts and body blows and then – when their eyes were swollen and their knees were buckling – he handed the Democrats a rope, and they gladly and gleefully hung themselves with it, right in front of an international television audience.

Parading one American hero after another – from the U.S. men’s ice hockey team that just won the Olympic gold medal to valiant soldiers, sailors, and airmen from various armed conflicts – President Trump made it impossible for the Democrats to remain seated or to sit on their hands. And yet, implausibly, most of them did exactly that, even when Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika, was introduced or the parents of a slain National Guard officer were presented with their daughter’s posthumous Purple Heart.

The Democrats – caught between a rock and a hard place of their own creation – couldn’t even bring themselves to stand and/or applaud for lower taxes, free college education accounts for newborns, or reduced prices for prescription drugs.

Having offered the bait, it was now time for President Trump to set the hook and reel in the catch.

Gesturing towards the seated and scowling Democrats, President Trump smiled, shook his head, and said, “These people are crazy!”

And the vast majority of Americans watching had to agree.

After all, no one likes a sourpuss… and the Democrat caucus is full of them. I mean, who doesn’t stand for and salute a 100-year-old veteran of the Korean War, who was being awarded the Medal of Honor for his heroic actions in a 1952 dogfight in which he shot down four Soviet MiG-15s while saving the lives of hundreds of U.S. sailors?

Or, for that matter, who doesn’t stand for and salute an MH-47 Chinook pilot who, despite being shot four times during Operation Absolute Resolve that captured Venezuelan president and drug kingpin Nicolas Maduro, successfully completed his mission? With some assistance, Chief Warrant Officer Eric Slover managed to rise to his feet in the House gallery despite his wounds in order to receive the Medal of Honor, but the majority of Democratic officeholders on the House floor below him remained seated… to their everlasting shame.

I could go on and on, giving one example of the Democrats’ callous and craven behavior that night, but here’s the rub…

They aren’t just crazy. They are also spiritually deluded, oppressed, and in some cases, possessed.

If you are a Christian, tell me what you see and sense when you look at and listen to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer. Doesn’t something in your spirit tell you that there are evil forces at work? The same goes for when former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi takes the podium… or Elizabeth Warren… or Hakeem Jeffries… or so many other Democrat leaders.

The ability to lie with a straight face is an acquired “art”, but defending the indefensible – such as late-term and even partial birth abortion – shows a total searing of a person’s conscience.

I invite you to read I Timothy 4:1-2 and see if Bernie Sanders, Corey Booker, and Adam Schiff don’t come readily to mind.

Folks, we must recognize that, at its core, we are not fighting a political battle. On the contrary, we are engaging in spiritual warfare at the highest levels. That calls for lots of smarts but far more importantly, a daily donning of our spiritual armor.

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this world’s darkness, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore take up the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you will be able to stand your ground, and having done everything, to stand.” Ephesians 6:12-13 (BSB)

Let’s utilize every political weapon at our disposal while remembering that the reprobates that comprise today’s Democrat Party are being led and empowered by dark spiritual forces. In many ways they are mindless pawns – maneuvered by an evil chessmaster – who have exchanged their eternal souls for temporal power and will do anything and everything to gain it and retain it.
