Democrats and Their Hard-to-Swallow Word Salad

“Say that again and I’ll wash your mouth out with soap!”

Those words were recently uttered – not by an irate mother angered by her foul-mouthed child – but by Third Way, a prominent liberal think tank. And guess who those words were meant for?

If you guessed the movers and shakers in the Democrat Party, you’re right!

Tired of the Democrats shooting themselves in the foot and alienating mainstream voters with their liberal linguistics, Third Way compiled a “blacklist” of terms they want Democrats to stop using. To make it easier for the DNC to comprehend, Third Way organized the words to avoid into categories such as Therapy-Speak, Seminar Room Language, Gender/Orientation Correctness, and Racial Constructs.

Among the real “No-No’s” were using “birthing person” or “inseminated person” instead of woman, “the unhoused” instead of homeless, and “Latinx” for Latinos. Makes sense to me… and I could have saved the DNC a hefty consulting fee.

Other phrases on the “Do Not Mention List” were “environmental violence”, “safe space”, “systems of oppression”, “chest feeding”, “body shaming”, “patriarchy”, “microaggression”, and “intersectionality”. In other words, if you want to win over mainstream voters, stop talking like you have your head up your butt and start communicating like a normal person.

Repeat after me. The word “immigrant” is better (and simpler) than the far more convoluted “person who immigrated”… and saying someone is hungry or malnourished resonates with voters more than using the phony phrase “food insecurity”. And please, for the love of Pete, stop saying that everything is an “existential threat” to something else.

As far as sexuality is concerned, can we please just limit ourselves to straight and gay… or heterosexual and homosexual? Enough already with the cisgender, heteronormative, and LGBTQIA+ nonsense.

Perhaps my favorite category that Third Way felt compelled to lecture the Democrat Party about dealt with the criminal justice system. Having visited more than 400 different correctional institutions across North America and Africa during my 35 years in prison ministry, I have yet to hear some of the nonsensical terms that the DNC has tried employing… with very little success, I might add.

One of them is “involuntary confinement” (as if any type of confinement is voluntary). Another is “justice-involved”, whatever that means. And yet another one is “incarcerated people” instead of prisoner or inmate.

Let me share a secret with you folks at the DNC. I have ministered to more than 500,000 inmates over the past four decades and not one of them ever referred to himself as an “incarcerated person”. In fact, every last man, woman, or teenager was honest enough to call themselves a prisoner or an inmate… and so should the Democrat Party instead of tippy-toeing around and sounding like some kind of pot-smoking, glue-sniffing humanities professor from the 1960s.

Oh, and one last thing that Third Way didn’t mention, but I will…

STOP USING SO MUCH PROFANITY! You think it makes you sound tough and relatable, but in reality, it makes you sound uneducated and unworthy of the office you are seeking or currently holding. Yes, I am talking about you, Tim Walz (MN), Adam Schiff (CA), Jasmine Crockett (TX), Ruben Gallego (AZ), Brian Schatz (HI), and Maxine Dexter (OR).

Sadly, of the aforementioned potty-mouths, the ones who publicly dropped the F-bomb were the two ladies and the effeminate junior senator from California.

Real classy, ladies.
