Glading Appointed Florida State Minister

For several years, I have been praying for God to give me one last "ministry mountain" to climb - just like Caleb, one of my biblical heroes - and to make it the most spiritually impactful assignment of my life. Well, God has heard and answered those prayers, because I have been appointed to serve with Capitol Commission as their new State Minister to the Florida Legislature.

I will continue to serve as president of Risk Takers for Christ and pastor of Midway Bible Fellowship but will be delegating some of my other ministry responsibilities as I assume this new position.

As Capitol Commission's Florida State Minister, I will be tasked with ministering to the legislators in Tallahassee and their staffs as well as to the lobbyists and state employees who work in the Capitol building. My job will be to serve as their unofficial pastor, spiritual advisor, counselor, friend, and confidant.

Because this is a nonpartisan position and because my goal will be to effectively minister to members of both political parties, I will be discontinuing my faith-based political blog effective immediately. I will also be refraining from posting partisan comments on social media. Please know that my personal political positions will continue to be based solely on biblical principles and I will remain a strong advocate for the preborn.

In my new position, I will be required to raise my own prayer and financial support. Next year, the Florida state legislature will be in session from March 2nd through April 30th, with committee meetings throughout January and February. Therefore, Deanna and I will have to find temporary housing in the Tallahassee area for (at least) those four months in addition to maintaining our primary residence in Fort Pierce. Our plans are to commute back to Fort Pierce every other weekend to preach at our church and to visit my 97-year-old mother.

Our best estimates are that we will need to raise $3,500/month to cover housing, transportation, and general ministry costs for the 4-6 months we will be in Tallahassee plus an additional $2,500 to set up a satellite office there. That's a total of $16,500 - $23,500 to place a pastor in the Florida state capitol... ministering to the leaders and policy makers in Tallahassee.

If God is leading you to support our new calling - either on a monthly or one-time basis - here is how you can be part of our ministry team:

Above all, Deanna and I covet your prayers as we embark on this exciting new ministry adventure. Caleb was 85 when he pleaded with Joshua to "Give me this mountain!" I am 67 years young and looking forward to serving God with every ounce of physical and spiritual energy I can muster.

A final note... as mentioned earlier, I will be continuing many of my Risk Takers for Christ responsibilities but will be delegating some of my duties to others. It is critical that the financial support for RTC remains at the same level or increases as we hire several part-time employees to pick up the slack. Please pray for RTC and our board during this time of transition.

(To make an online donation to Risk Takers for Christ, visit Partner / Donate - Risk Takers for Christ). You can also send a check to PO Box 651421, Vero Beach FL 32965. All gifts to RTC are 100% tax-deductible.)

Thank you for standing with us!

In HIS service and yours,

Dale
